In support of this mission, Security Information Specialists are integrated into the personnel, physical, and counterintelligence security disciplines to ensure highly sensitive information utilized in all security processes are protected and handled in accordance with all applicable laws and policies. Security Information Specialists work in a myriad of offices supporting Security and Counterintelligence. The responsibilities of a Security Information Specialist include, but are not limited to: Track, manage, maintain highly sensitive security processes, and maintain highly sensitive security risk and/or personnel security information, providing such information only to authorized recipients, when required, in appropriate formats, and within constraints of relevant laws (e.g., the Privacy Act and FOIA). When appropriate, provide basic security analysis and risk recommendations to decision makers and customers.
