    general Description

    This position assists the FCP Coordinator with tracking of family services provided to children and families in the Birth to Five Head Start Program. This position is also responsible for recording, monitoring and reporting non-federal share, family goals, referrals/follow up; needs assessments, home visits, case notes and parent engagement. All Head Start and Early Head Start staff are mandated reporters and are legally obligated to report any suspected or known child abuse/neglect as required by law to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    Assists with annual reports and reviews data annually to determine whether there are significant changes in the information.

    Assists with tracking family goals, home visits, referrals/follow up, and needs assessments

    Monitors Case Notes

    Assists with developing flyers for parent engagement events

    Attends Parent Committee Meetings, Policy Council Meetings as needed

    Attends and participates in agency and program events

    Takes pictures at Head Start events.

    Records, monitors and reports non-federal share; trains or assists in training of In-Kind used by program.

    Requests needed corrections from Family Advocates and other staff

    Communicates with staff, parents, consultants, community partners and general public on a regular basis; through formal or informal discussions and presentations.

    Assists with Advisories as assigned

    Participates in self-assessments and Federal Review visits as assigned

    Attends all in-service training and/or presents trainings on Volunteer and Parent Engagement Activities in the program and other assigned meetings.

    Travels to seminars and meetings as directed.

    Performs other duties as assigned by Associate Director of Comprehensive Services, Head Start Director, and Chief Executive Officer that benefit the Department and/or Agency

    MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience:

    Associate Degree required, but a Bachelors in the related areas of social, human or family services is preferred, with

    At least two (2) years of related experience and

    At least two (2) years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Accepts responsibility for the direction, control, planning and implementation of program activities, events, and tasks for all funded programs.

    Able to gather relevant data, conduct an analysis, and arrive at conclusions in order to develop recommendations for management action on various cost related issues.

    Demonstrates effective leadership, management, and training skills.

    Deals with people beyond giving and receiving instructions--is courteous, cooperative, conscientious, and tactful in dealing with employees and the general public.

    Performs job duties in a precise, thorough, and meticulous manner.

    Able to handle various projects at the same time in an effective manner.

    Knowledgeable of office practices and administrative procedures and possesses the ability to interpret and properly apply policies, rules, and regulations.

    Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills towards all Agency staff and the general public.

    Must have ability to listen, hear, understand, and respond appropriately and effectively.

    Requires ability to plan, direct, and review the work of subordinate personnel.

    Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

    Special REQUIREMENTS

    Maintains a current Compliance Binder

    Maintains a current 1st aid/CPR, renew every 2 years by the expiration date

    Maintains a current Food Handlers Permit, renew every 2 years by the expiration date.

    Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, physical and functional capacity evaluation prior to first day of employment.

    Must successfully pass and submit a pre-employment TB test and periodically as indicated by the regional Texas Department of State Health Services or local health authority.

    Requires a valid Texas Driver's License and liability insurance. Driving record is subject to review and approval by agency insurance carrier.

    Dresses in appropriate attire and is professional in appearance and mannerisms.

    Proof of work eligibility must be provided.

    Requires occasional twisting at desk when answering phone or typing.

    Requires employee to lift and carry heavy objects such as boxes of paper and supplies.

    Requires employee to use hands, arms, feet, legs, neck and head while performing various Agency tasks.

    Requires occasional bending, stooping, and reaching above shoulder level when operating copier and when retrieving files from file cabinet drawers.

    Requires constant speaking and hearing on the telephone, with the general public, clients, and staff.
