Framatome is seeking an Engineer for our Mill Ridge Road office in Lynchburg, VA.  The position will support the Modifications group within IBPE Engineering. Job responsibilities will include performing as Responsible Engineer for design change packages and technical evaluations for projects supporting operating nuclear plants.  The NSSS organization is a technical unit of the Installed Base Engineering organization. The Modifications section is responsible for design/engineering change packages, technical evaluations and 10CFR50.59 Reviews for operating plants.

TYPICAL ASSIGNMENTS:

• Develop Engineering Change in accordance with nuclear fleet standard IP-ENG-001
  • Engineering Dispositions and justifications for the changes
• Review plant drawings and mark up to reflect new design
• Develop 10CFR50.59 Reviews for the design changes
• Perform Licensing Review for the new design
  • Existing Plant Licensing Basis documents
  • FSAR Markups
• Develop Engineering Technical Evaluations per utility procedures
  • Engineering Dispositions
  • FSAR Markups

ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY.  CANDIDATES WHO EXCEED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS MAY BE CONSIDERED FOR A HIGHER LEVEL POSITION.

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear or Electrical Engineering or Electronics plus 2-3 years of relevant work experience.  An Advanced degree may be substituded for related experience (MS 1-2 years or PhD 1-3 years).  
• Plant experience may be substituted for degree in some cases.
• Experience with Engineering Change in accordance with nuclear fleet standard IP-ENG-001
• Experience with developing 10CFR50.59 Reviews
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills and coordination ability
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently

• Experience with operating plant engineering changes and 10CFR50.59 reviews associated with I&C and electrical systems

TRAVEL: Up to 10% travel.  Travel is typically visiting a customer site for a review meeting on engineering change submittals and the occasional walk down.
