In this role, you will be a part of an agile development team. We work closely with our customers to develop and maintain Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) software on behalf of their customers, operational end users.
The development you do will be focused on the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) and Windows Tactical Assault Kit (WinTAK) platforms and their respective plugins. Working as part of the agile team, you will help identify and carry out pragmatic software design and implementation enabling new capabilities to be built and delivered to operational end users in a safe and expedient fashion.
In our line of work, we are often asked to integrate different technologies and assist in end user testing and evaluations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work as an active member of an agile development team. At a minimum, this means assisting in breaking down requirements into sprint sized tasks, estimating tasks, committing to tasks, and completing them.
- Collaborate and communicate with project stake holders such as the Chief Engineer, Requirements Manager, and the customer.
- Ability and desire to learn new things. To properly integrate different technologies or build new capabilities, we sometimes must roll up our sleeves and learn quite a bit of domain specific knowledge.
- Be prepared to visit the customer or their operational end users on occasion to either help gather requirements, demonstrate your work, or assist in your work being tested and/or evaluated
- Must be able to develop in a controlled software configuration management environment.
Required Skills
- Experience with mobile development (Android/iOS) or .NET is required.
- Must be able to readily obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Experience with one or more of the following development tools/environments would be beneficial but not required: Open GL, FFMPEG, or Spatial Lite
- Domain experience in the following areas would be beneficial but not required: geospatial systems (i.e., moving map display), geo-positioning devices, tactical networking, UAS, and/or mission planning solutions.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and/or experience in mobile development or desktop application development.
- Knowledge and/or experience with object-oriented languages such as C++, C#, Java, or Kotlin
- Experience in modern agile development environments with tools such as Git and Jira
