Working in a Estate Garden setting can be mighty rewarding when you know you were the one who helped install the landscape. $10 - $14/hr.
Bland has positions available for landscape installation laborers to work in their Estate Gardening Department. The Labor position is hands-on installation work, working with a year-round and with benefits.
LABORERS RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Mowing, raking, digging and weeding of landscapes
*Load and unload heavy equipment and planting materials from trucks
*Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings
*Prepare time sheets and other daily paperwork as required by the company
*Safe driving of company owned vehicles trucks (with or without trailers) and transporting crew members
*Assist with monitoring and maintaining irrigation controller (changing times, replacing heads, etc...) if needed
*Safe operation and maintenance of the following equipment:
Mowers - Push, walk behind and riding
Tillers, aerators, slit seeders
Edgers, string trimmers and chain saws
Backpack blowers and sprayers
Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes and pruning tools
Tractor
Snow broom
*Will be required to help with snow/ice removal in the winter months when necessary. This may require overnight stays at the property during these events

REQUIREMENTS:

*Fluent English required
*Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
*Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
*Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks
*Must wear work boots, Bland landscaping uniform and present yourself in a clean and polite manner
*Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
*Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required
*Must have valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
*Must be willing to obtain NC Pesticide applicators license
*Must have good communication skills and ability to work on a team
*Must comply with Bland’s policies and procedures
