Job Description
The San Francisco Planning Department is seeking two (2) Planning Interns to support the San Francisco Citywide Cultural Resources Survey (SF Survey) project.
The SF Survey is a multi-year effort supported by the San Francisco Planning Department to identify and document places and resources of cultural, historical, and architectural importance to San Francisco’s diverse communities. These places and resources include tangible aspects of our environment, such as buildings, structures, objects, sites, and districts, as well as intangible aspects, such as oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, festivals, and traditional crafts.
The Interns will help collect data, carry out technical analysis, draft planning narratives, and support public outreach efforts. This candidate must be a self-starter, receptive to feedback and learning new skills, and enjoy working in a team environment.
The two interns for SF Survey team are ideal for students interested in community engagement, history, architecture, design, or data analysis.
The Interns would assist with the following tasks:
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recent college graduate from an accredited university or a community college in the following related field: city, regional, or urban planning, or a closely related field such as architecture, landscape architecture, geography, urban studies, public administration, historical preservation, or environmental studies.
