    Your role at PFH :

    As a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Volunteer, you will be responsible for providing support, information, referrals and advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault and their significant others. You will:

    • Respond to general information and crisis phone calls
    • Provide sexual assault crisis intervention services at local hospitals, law enforcement agencies and other sites as directed.
    • Provide trauma-informed, personal, confidential peer counseling to sexual assault survivors and significant others
    • Assess needs for additional services and make appropriate referrals
    • Complete forms required for client files or service records
    • Maintain regular communication with Bridgeway DV/SA program staff with reference to program needs and files
    • Perform all tasks in a safe manner to avoid injury to self and others

    We think you'd be great for this role if you:

    • Are at least 21 years of age
    • Possess reliable transportation
    • Are able to respond to emergency calls and incidents; sensitivity to sexual assault victims
    • Demonstrate the ability to understand and appreciate diversity and to be sensitive to different experiences and lifestyles
    • Can commit to 36 hours each month (includes nights/weekends/holidays) throughout a one year period
    • Demonstrate flexibility with shift hours to meet the needs of the clients
    • Attend meetings and training sessions as scheduled (initial 48 hours of SART training to become certified and ongoing 8 hour per year continuing education to maintain certification - provided)
