YOUR JOB:

As the school based Care Coordinator/ Medical Assistant, you are responsible for providing direct nursing care under the supervision the School Based Nurse. You will set up on-site telehealth equipment for the SBHC Nurse Practitioners to ensure strong internet connection, and coordinate with school to ensure children are available for appointments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the School-Based Nurse where needed in day to day school-based operations.
• Assist the SBHC physician and/or nurse practitioner with patient visits, when needed.
• Provide education to both individual students, families, and school districts where needed.
• Take patient history and vital signs, and prepare the patient for examination and treatment.
• Attend assigned community and/or school-based meetings when requested.
• Assist with crisis needs in contracted school districts.

WE THINK YOU'D BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

• Graduated from a Medical Assisting training program.
• Are able to obtain CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date to remain current.
• One year of experience in a physician office setting preferred.
