    YOUR ROLE AT PFH:

    As a Legal Advocate, you are responsible for providing legal advocacy. You will:

    • Assist shelter and outreach consumers with obtaining Ex Partes and Full Orders of Protection
    • Attend regular court proceedings that occur in the Family Court docket
    • As requested, assist women with preparation for criminal court proceedings and assist with the development of victim impact statements
    • Maintain up to date, written step by step procedures for obtaining an Ex Parte and Full Order of Protection.
    • Provide on-going education to all staff on procedures to obtain Ex Partes and Full Order of Protection.
    • Follow-up on all referrals received through the prosecuting attorney's office to assist victims of domestic violence, through both phone and in person.
    • Facilitate various psycho-educational groups.
    • Maintain documentation for all services provided, turning in monthly reports to the design.

    WE THINK YOU'D BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field; OR

    • Associate Degree and one year experience in human services field; OR

    • Three years experience providing case management and advocacy pertaining to resource acquisition in a human service organization; OR

    • A survivor of domestic violence who has demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working in the field of domestic violence and two years experience in a human services organization

    • Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and use Google applications.
