The SFPUC is expanding access to clean energy for all San Franciscans through its CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power programs. We currently serve about 70% of the electricity demand in San Francisco and we are looking for an entry-level public relations professional to assist with information and education materials, customer and stakeholder community engagement and outreach, and the development of creative content for a variety of digital and print platforms.

SFPUC Communications provides ongoing communications, marketing, and outreach support to the agency’s clean energy programs -- CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power. We are responsible for customer notifications, digital communications, social media, traditional media, community engagement, marketing, advertising, and public relations. The 1310 Public Relations Assistant will support on several marketing and communications projects focused on new and existing customer programs offered to CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power customers, including programs that address affordability and accelerate electrification of transportation and buildings to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Essential Functions:
Qualifications
Education : Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
Substitution : Experience in public relations, public affairs, public information, editorial, newspaper, magazine, radio, television, social media, digital engagement, advertising, marketing or similar work directly responsible for the preparation, and/or dissemination of news and information in a variety of formats for internal and external communications may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
