  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for a range of administrative and accounting functions. This will primarily consist of payroll functions including processing and distribution of checks, employee reimbursement requests, verifying GL account codes as it relates to manufacturing operations and acting as backup for A/P and A/R. Work is performed with some degree of discretionary judgment, independence, and confidentiality. Work is performed under general supervision of the Controller.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ▪ Manages/ processes payroll for company employees ▪ Ensure proper payroll deductions or reimbursements as it relates to employee benefit elections ▪ Bank or credit card reconciliation ▪ A/P and A/R entry ▪ A/P check-run: cutting hard checks through system ▪ Process manual checks upon request ▪ EOB filings for employee secondary health insurance plan ▪ Performs basic bookkeeping activities and updates accounting systems ▪ Monitors office supplies inventory and place orders ▪ Complete data entry and invoicing tasks for Sales and Proposals departments ▪ Maintain ERP system as it relates to opening and closing of production jobs ▪ Enter new employee profiles into company database and time keeping systems ▪ Resolves administrative problems by analyzing information; identifying and communicating solutions. ▪ Maintains rapport with customers, managers, and employees ▪ Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating needed actions to management

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ▪ Support other teams with various administrative ▪ Support Controller with miscellaneous projects including month-end and job-costing reports ▪ Perform other duties as assigned.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office and uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required.

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: ▪ Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred ▪ A minimum of 5 years in general Accounting performing various AP/ AR functions and payroll is required ▪ 3-5 years of experience using ERP system ▪ 3-5 years of experience doing job-costing ▪ Experience managing payroll; knowledge of electronic hand scan/ finger print software ▪ Proven experience as an Accounting Coordinator or in a similar role ▪ Strong understanding of the Billing and Payable processes ▪ A thorough understanding of the accounting cycle including the ability to act as back-up to AP and AR roles ▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; excellent presentation skills are required. ▪ Great analytical and problem-solving skills ▪ Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and office management systems and procedures ▪ Exceptional attention to detail. ▪ Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs are required. ▪ Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts. ▪ Must comply with Roeslein & Associate’s core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among and with employees.
