    Meals on Wheels Assistant Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County (Montco SAAC) - Norristown, PA $12 an hour - Part-time Meals on Wheels AssistantNorristown, PA Part Time 20 hours week Monday Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Montco SAAC Since 1965, Montco SAAC has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for homebound seniors through 3 Meals on Wheels sites in Montgomery County. These sites include Ambler, Eastern Montco, and Norristown. With the help of more than 300 volunteers, Montco SAAC now serves 350 people daily. General Summary Provide efficient operation of the day to day Meals on Wheels program in Norristown, PA. Position supervises volunteers in the operation of Montco SAAC's Senior Nutrition Program (SNP). Position involves oversight of: team heating/cooking frozen meals for delivery, training and scheduling of volunteers, packing, pick-up and delivery, document and maintain billing information, detailed case management records for home delivered meals consumers and maintain accurate records for volunteers. Provide general office support, community outreach and kitchen assistance as needed. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) In conjunction with the Nutrition Services Director, the Norristown Meals on Wheels Assistant will focus on the following: * Maintains accurate and updated file for each HDM (Home Delivered Meals) Consumer. * Supervises volunteers on site to implement the goals of the program. * Manage the proper preparation and on-time delivery of meals to seniors in the Meals on Wheels program following all standards developed by the State and County. * Coordinates weekly order for HDM meals with food service personnel at BTC Food Service or a food service we are using. * Prepares delivery routes and schedules for drivers on an ongoing basis. Maintains current personnel files on all volunteers in compliance with Agency policy. Maintain MOW route instructions with accurate delivery information on HDM Consumer; make adjustments as needed. Provide drivers with specific instructions if needed. * Follow up on HDM participant if driver is unable to deliver the meal. Document all necessary information in case file and obtain all information from volunteer before they leave for the day. * Alert Nutrition Services Director (NSD) as necessary regarding any special needs or circumstances of recipients. Consult with NSD on any questions concerning eligibility or other issues with consumer. * Work with NSD to complete all necessary reports, records, statistics and data by the required date for the HDM Program. * Attend the necessary food service quarterly menu meetings, prepared with the necessary information from the consumers participate in the program and the information needed by the food service as needed. * Assist in recruitment,interviewing, processing, training and recognition of MOW volunteers (packers, runners and drivers) for all three Montco SAAC locations. * Be aware of and actively support the objectives and goal of committees and of Montco SAAC. * Assists in fundraising activity such a Walk/Run, Fashion Show and other special events. * May be required to perform Meals on Wheels delivery duties for routes when volunteers are not available. * Other duties as assigned.     • Vehicle and valid driver's license and insurance required to perform job duties * Ability to repetitively lift 25lbs, reach overhead, bend, stoop, climb stairs and move about on city streets. May be required to lift up to 50lbs occasionally * Ability to work in fast-paced team environment * Proficient in computer applications and MS Office. * Ability to quickly learn new computer programs; * Proven experience to effectively manage, engage and retain volunteers * Ability to establish good working relationships with all types of people * Strong ability to problem solve and implement solutions * Good recordkeeping and organizational skills * Must pass criminal background check. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: High school diploma and/or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience food services. Preferred Bachelors degree from four-year college or university. This position has the opportunity for growth for the right candidate as the program expands.
