    Process Officer I (Juvenile Court Clerk) Closes On: December 7, 2018 at 11:59 PM CST Department: Juvenile Court Clerk Job Status: Full-Time Shift: Days: Rate of Pay: $2,437.50 Monthly - Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Status: Open Details: Job Posting #18-39277 Apply Now Position Summary Works under general supervision of the IV-D supervisor and manager to serve subpoenas, summons, garnishments, warrants, attachments, and other official instruments for the Juvenile Court of Memphis and Shelby County, Tennessee. Pay Grade: 41 Minimum Qualifications 100% - 1. Two (2) years of field experience in a law enforcement capacity; and 2. Graduation from an accredited high school or possess a GED. 3. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Serves summons, subpoenas, garnishments, and other court instruments related to IV-D activity. 2. Makes and/or assists in arrests on warrants and attachments. 3. Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly reports. 4. Maintains a system of files, as required. 5. Performs other related duties as required or directed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities KSAs and Others - 1. General knowledge of legal instruments to be served. 2. General knowledge of law enforcement processes and techniques. 3. Ability to make quick, sound decisions based on a given situation. 4. Ability to work courteously and tactfully with public citizens and co-workers. 5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employers, school officials and other associated agencies. 6. Ability to initiate and assist in the location of subjects. Physical Requirements Must successfully pass a physical examination. Special Requirements 1. Must pass a psychological examination. 2. Must possess a valid Tennessee drivers license or secure one by date of employment. 3. Must attend in-service training and qualify for firearm. 4. Must be eligible to become commissioned as a Special Deputy Sheriff before completion of probation period. 5. Must be able to obtain certification for the State of TN handgun permit. 6. Must pass a drug test. 7. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County standards for automobile insurance upon date of employment. 8. Must pass criminal history background check. 9. Must be able to successfully complete POST Certification training through the Shelby County Sheriffs office.
