This position is located at Scotland Correctional Institution in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Scotland Correctional Institution is a 1,756 bed Close/Medium/Minimum facility housing male inmates. This is a mission critical position to Scotland Correctional Institution. The person in this position will ensure the accuracy and fiscal policy compliance with critical accounting duties, primarily responsible for Trust Fund Accounting, Inmate Welfare Accounting, and Monthly Canteen Reporting for eight canteens as a back-up for the Fiscal Accounting Technician. This position reviews, interprets and applies current policy and procedure applicable to purchasing, accounts payable, and other accounting procedures. This position will analyze data for accuracy, research and problem-solve, and cross train to serve as backup for inmate trust fund accounting. This position will accurately operate a personal computer, mainframe terminal, calculator, copy machine, facsimile machine, and other communication equipment. This position manages spreadsheets and maintains logs of various documents and forms.
