    Early Intervention Service Coordinator Salary $36,677.00 - $62,092.00 Annually Location Cleveland County, NC Job Type Permanent Full-Time Department Dept of Health and Human Services Job Number 18-13686 Closing 1/17/2019 5:00 PM Eastern Description of Work The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct service coordination for children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and to provide supports to their families/caregivers. Service coordination is a critical service that is helpful for families/caregivers and it is also required by the federal law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Services provided through the NC ITP must be compliant with the IDEA, federal regulations, and State policies and procedures. This position as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for children, birth to three, is located within the catchment area of the Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) of Shelby. Duties include working with families and providers to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), work with multi-disciplinary teams to determine families' needs for supports and services, conduct home visits, coordinate and facilitate services and transition planning, and participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services. Salary Grade: GN09 Recruitment Range: $36,677 - $42,615 Position: 60039972/18-13686 About the Early Intervention Branch The North Carolina Early Intervention Branch (NCEI) is a part of the N.C. Division of Public Health. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP), which provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three who have developmental delays and/or disabilities. Research shows that birth to three is a critical time frame for working with families to support their competence and confidence as their child's best teacher because of what we know about brain development. This early learning offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. The Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs), the local lead agencies that implement the ITP across North Carolina, work with local service providers to help families help their children succeed. Qualified applicants must document on the application that they possess all of the following: Experience working with children 0 5 and their families, including children with developmental delays. Demonstrated knowledge of young child development. Experience working with and collaborating with families, community organizations, and other agencies. Management Prefers candidate with the following Knowledge of coaching interaction styles and adult learning principles. Experience working with infants, toddlers and their families using research-informed and/or evidence-based practices for the provision of early intervention services. Experience developing treatment and/or outcomes-based plans, setting goals, planning, writing and measuring outcomes for children and their families Good written and oral communication skills Attention to detail and the ability to manage time independently Fluency in a second language. Physical Requirements Must be able to drive and travel by car across the CDSA's defined catchment area. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served OR Bachelor s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
