Hourly Rate of Pay: $7.25 - $15.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application) This temporary position will be assigned to DOT DMV. The team members of the Traffic Records OPS Support/Helpdesk Unit are responsible for providing customer service to hundreds of State Agencies, Division of Highways, NCDOT- Traffic Safety and Mobility Unit, UNC-Highway Safety Research Center, the Governor's Highway Safety Program, insurance companies and the law enforcement community. These entities utilize this data in their efforts to improve highway safety. The duties of this position includes providing daily helpdesk support to local law enforcement agencies and the NC state Highway Patrol with Crash Reporting Systems (CRS), the Traffic and Criminal Software (TRACS) and the Electronic Crash Reporting Systems (ECRS). In addition, this position will assist the local law enforcement agencies and the NC State Highway Patrol to process and record crash data accurately and in a timely manner. This position will also assist the the TRACS Training for Law Enforcement Agencies and other assigned duties as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies [NOTE: Qualified applicants must meet and reflect on their application training and experience and all knowledge, skills, abilities and any experience or competencies specified in the supplemental question(s) to be considered.] Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration. Considerable knowledge of program objectives and standards in the area of assignment. Basic knowledge of personnel policies and procedures. May require basic knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Basic knowledge of administering funds in accordance with program procedures. Ability to initiate and install administrative programs and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing, applying, and interpreting policies and procedures. May require the ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate positions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel, officials, and the general public. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree from appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
