The Boiler Operator position will work in the Steam Plant approximately seven (7) months of the year with the remaining time performing general maintenance duties. The primary duties of this position is to monitor/operate equipment in the Steam Plant to include various boilers. The Steam Plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Work Location: Maintenance/Steam Plant Work Hours: Rotating Shift as indicated below: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m.

    • 3:00 p.m. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies * General knowledge of hand and power tools and their use. * Mechanical, electrical, HVAC, boiler, and/or plumbing experience in a commercial/industrial setting. * Ability to understand and operate computers and maintenance/controls software. Management Preferences: Willingness and ability to be trained in various trades in a team environment. Strong mechanical aptitude. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 90 pounds safely. Ability to work on a ladder and pass the required physical to wear a negative pressure respirator. Physically able to work in hot/cold environments and confined spaces. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements One year of progressive experience in the performance of tasks associated with mechanical maintenance or boiler operation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
