DES Office of Professional Development (OPD) is seeking dynamic and
experienced instructors to provide program-specific employee and
supervisor training to employees at all levels in the largest division
within the Department of Economic Security. The Training Officer II is
responsible for delivering training and facilitating professional
development, providing feedback and input to course design,
communicating with customers and class participants at all levels, and
working on special projects as assigned. This position is part of a team
that is critical in helping DES serve Arizonas most vulnerable
populations. Not only will you have the opportunity to do what you do

travel in support of these functions is required. JOB DUTIES: * Train
division staff around the state on DBME/FAA topics. This includes
preparing to train course content, such as learning new material,
attending Train the Trainer workshops, gathering materials, traveling to
class sites state-wide, and setting up training facilities. Provides
reports on training delivery (student evaluations, attendance).
Facilitates meetings, workshops, and other synchronous learning and
development activities. * Advise, develop and coach DBME/FAA PSE and
management staff across DBME in eligibility and determination practices
and/or skills. * Perform routine administrative tasks involving status
reports, project plans and correspondence; attending meetings; serving
on committees and teams; attending training and professional development
classes and workshops; serving on committees and work-groups. KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Knowledge of: * Computers and Microsoft
Office products * Writing (grammar, punctuation, spelling, proper
syntax, proper sentence structure) * Adult learning principles * Federal
and state laws * Regulations, policies and procedures * Customer service
and communication principles * Evaluation (Phillips ROI model preferred)
- Project planning concepts and practices Skill in: * Customer service *

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S): * Bachelor's degree or higher in an applicable
subject area such as Human Resources Development, Adult Education,
Psychology, English or similar field. One years' experience training
adult learners as a full-time trainer responsible for instruction and
group/team facilitation. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: * In-state travel
is required. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current,
valid Arizona issued drivers license appropriate to the assignment.
Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license
record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must
complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code
R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own
transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and
