Created by referendum in 1986, we have been making winners happen ever since! We have paid over $559 million in prizes and returned over $249 million back to the State of Montana. The Lottery Special Events Internship will give students in marketing and communications a wide range of opportunities to see the inside of a marketing organization. This is a summer internship opportunity. Duties include writing and distributing press releases, marketing messages and helping to craft and execute marketing and communications plans for Lottery promotions, and assisting with the planning of the Lottery events. Additional duties and responsibilities include writing and editing newsletter articles, and assisting with the Lotterys entire public relations efforts. The interns will also be part of the Montana Lotterys Marketing team, and where appropriate, will participate in planning and implementation of new games, advertising designs and plans, and market research plans. If the results of the investigation are, in the opinion of the Montana Lottery, not favorable, employment will not continue. **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ** This internship will most benefit students majoring in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations, although students in all areas of study are encouraged to apply. Students completing their second year of college will be given preference over underclassmen. **COMPETENCIES: ** This position requires basic knowledge of customer service and the principles of marketing and public relations. The successful applicant will be a positive and professional representative of the Montana Lottery. This positions responsibilities include assisting with: * Participate in planning and implementation of new games, advertising designs and plans; * Assist with creating and managing content for social media and Lottery website site; * Assist in the processing of winners of Lottery games, including conducting interviews and press release creation; * Assist in the preparation of summer events and retailer events; * Participate in market research plans; * Assist in general office procedures. ** ** Only online applications are accepted.
