Position Summary The Biomimicry Intern/Co-op will incorporate Biomimicry principles into US Endoscopys new product design and development process. This role will work closely with R & D and Advanced Engineering on overarching projects or specific subset features and component challenges that can be optimized by an approach that investigates how nature deals with this type of issues. The Biomimicry Intern will then work with Cross Functional Teams to integrate the prototyping and evaluation of these directives to demonstrate their feasibility and effectiveness. Duties 1. Performs analysis of project needs with an eye toward Biomimicry integration 2. Identifies and documents approaches that can be assisted by biomimicry principles 3. Works with NPD Staff to ensure that the device fabrication based on biomimicry are appropriate and address the critical issues 4. Cooperates with NPD Staff to ensure that the proper testing is performed and valuable 5. Assesses differences with respect to commercially available products and help document and justify results 6. Assists in the final integration of these principles into product offerings Required Experience 1. Formal academic exposure to Biomimicry principles and their integration, minimum of six months 2. Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering and/or Biology 3. Proficiency Microsoft Office or equivalent computer business application software 4.
