08/21/2018 at 11:59 PM EST Salary: Competitive Duties * Starts up and
shuts down the plant equipment from the control room, including
monitoring and operating the plant equipment and responding to plant
upset events and emergencies. * Performs duties both inside and outside
of the control room as needed, including plant equipment rounds and
walk-downs; taking and recording all necessary equipment and
instrumentation readings and data; monitoring plant equipment for
correct and safe operations; manually and remotely operating valves and
equipment. * Maintains proper water chemistry in accordance with
established plant procedures for all system/site equipment. * Performs
predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance work. * Develops
and executes work plans that include: required tools and equipment,
required materials and supplies, required procedures, checklists, and
drawings, etc., to safely and effectively perform maintenance and
operations activities. * Performs and participates in analysis to
identify potential failure modes and in identification and
implementation of solutions to prevent recurrence. * Works as part of a
composite crew to perform overhaul maintenance. Operates tools and
equipment required to perform preventative, corrective, and predictive
maintenance. * Required to work rotating shifts, and to work overtime,
to work temporary assignments at other TVA work locations, and to travel
overnight as warranted by TVAs business needs. * Assist in the
instructing of trainees or others assigned to his/her working area.
Qualifications Must have: * Associates Degree in electronics area or
equivalent industrial, military, or vocational training. * Three years
experience in maintaining microprocessor, solid state electronics,
process instrumentation and controls, associated piping, tubing, valves,
transmitters, final control elements, electrical equipment including
circuit breakers and motors, or combined cycle control room operator
experience. * Initiative, ability to function independently, good
judgment in decision making, good problem solving skills, and function
well in team environment. Must have completed the following training or
its equivalent or must successfully complete as part of combustion
turbine technician training program: Switching and Tagging, Safety,
Regulatory Training, CC Maintenance, CC Operation, CC Systems and
Components, Advanced Control Systems, CC Management System and Key
Processes, High Voltage Testing and Grounding. Additional Training
Preferred: CT Combustion, Hot Gas Path, Major Inspections, Turbine
Generator Alignments, Welding, Rigging and Heavy Equipment Supervision
Received Incumbents are under the direct supervision of the site
management designee who will make work assignments and review the work
for adequacy. Must be able to work independently of direct supervision
to perform duties of the position when supervision is not available.
