Provides all levels of management with information used to influence outcomes and promote sound decision making. Enhances fiscal discipline by supporting efforts to create transparency around financial and operational performance. Supports efforts to measure, monitor, and report on critical factors such as cost, effort, and scope against the established business plans. Highlights factors that could result in unapproved scope and cost inflation. Other accountabilities include financial statement integrity, technical accounting guidance, Sarbanes-Oxley control environment compliance, financial and operational performance reporting, annual business plan development, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, cost management, capital project planning, business system development and integration, and system and process improvements. Ensures integrity of financial statements and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant control environment. 2. Develops, analyzes, and reports on all aspects of financial and economic results. 3. Provides management with financial and operational insight to drive effective decision making. Adds appropriate commentary, analysis, etc. to reports to provide relevant and insightful business unit-specific information to management. 4. Facilitates Business Unit business planning and establishes effective monitoring systems for performance measurement. 5. Supports the implementation of financial improvement initiatives. 6. Engages with management to influence outcomes and facilitate achievement of business objectives. 7. Analyzes and interprets cost data in order to ensure effective spending control and oversight. 8. Educates and informs management on financial matters to improve financial and business acumen. 9. Performs special projects as requested. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education A Bachelors degree is required. Field of study in accounting or finance is preferred. A Bachelors degree in a related field of study, with related education, training & experience will be considered. An advanced degree in accounting, finance or business administration is desirable. A CPA is preferred. Experience Limited experience in financial management, business systems and controls. Two years experience is preferred. Certification/License, etcContinued professional development necessary to obtain professional certifications (such as a CPA) is expected. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must have working knowledge of general business, financial systems and controls, computer skills, and financial analysis techniques. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate clearly orally and in writing. Strong commitment to and skills in employee communication and the ability to build teamwork and convey mission, objective, expectations and philosophy.
