Work requires contact with contractors. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor. -Duties -The essential duties for this job include: Construction Recordkeeper I and Construction Recordkeeper II: -Drives to attend pre-construction meetings to instruct contractor's bookkeeper on record-keeping procedures. -Monitors contractors' compliance with federal requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunity and wages. -Monitors on-the-job training program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs; submits required monthly reports. -Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against work log and estimate form to verify work is completed before payment is made. -Prepares and types correspondence, reports and supporting documents; files, orders supplies and equipment. -Processes change orders, supplemental agreements and extra work orders. -Sets up field record books for each construction project within assigned area. -Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. -Competencies -The required competencies for this job include: Construction Recordkeeper I: -Standard procedures relative to planning, construction and engineering fundamentals -Governmental policies and procedures -Equal employment opportunity guidelines -Contract development and oversight -DBE and SBE programs -Writing, reviewing and revising documents to include engineering notes, specifications, standards and procedures -Reviewing plans for accuracy and ensuring compliance with requirements -The use of personal computers and applicable programs, applications and systems -Maintaining a safe working relationship -Communicate effectively Construction Recordkeeper II: -Applicable testing methods, processes and procedures -Standard procedures relative to planning, construction and engineering fundamentals -Governmental policies and procedures -Equal employment opportunity guidelines -Contract development and oversight -DBE and SBE programs -Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports -The use of personal computers and applicable programs, applications and systems -Maintaining a safe working relationship -Communicate effectively -Education -This job requires the following: -High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies -Work Experience -This job requires the following: Construction Recordkeeper I -2 years in Construction record keeping, accounting (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent) -No supervisory experience required. -Related College education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis. Construction Recordkeeper II -3 years in Construction record keeping, accounting (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent) -No supervisory experience required. -Related College education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis. -Licenses and Certifications -The following Licenses and/or Certifications are required for this job: -Safety Impact Certificate*** -Valid Drivers License at the time of application *** Safety Impact certifications are not required at the time of application.
