Duties Summary This position is in the Engineering Laboratory Data, Security, Technology group of the Engineering Laboratory. Are you ready to explore your future with NIST? Responsibilities In this position, you will serve as the Support Services Specialist for the computing services group within the Engineering Laboratory. This position will be directly responsible for directing and coordinating a variety of service functions that support the work of the group, taking administrative burden off of technical staff. Duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: Managing various group budgetary line items as directed by Supervisor; Analyzing, reviewing, and coordinating with the appropriate personnel on all financial issues, to include invoice review and billing error remediation; Providing first level review of annual IT Service Level Agreement (SLA) including annual invoice audit;df Monitoring, triaging, prioritizing and routing service requests submitted via the ticketing system or via telephone calls, assigning tickets to technical staff, migrating requests from the ticketing system to the project management system; Scheduling device checkout for the IT loaner pools for travelers; Scheduling virtual meetings for EL staff and associates, helping to set up workshops including assisting with A/V and IT equipment; Managing property for the group; Working with facilities to manage outages and provide quality assurance on renovations to lab and office spaces for the group; Managing IT asset database; Receiving visitors and answering calls; Scheduling meetings and managing calendars; Purchasing supplies, equipment and services; You will spend less than 25% of your work time administering time and attendance, arranging travel, and preparing procurement packages. Qualifications Applicants mus t have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 federal level (ZA-I for NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience helping to manage an office environment including procuring supplies and services, communicating with people outside of the group, creation and editing of spreadsheets, managing property, supporting facilities and equipment, responsibility for an organizational bank card, assisting with services, and working with a variety of administrative applications to perform internal tasks (e.g. travel, time and attendance, procurement, asset inventory). OR A master's or equivalent higher level graduate degree OR 2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education OR A combination of education and experience Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
