Duties Summary The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Office of the
Assistant Secretary for Export Administration (EA), Office of Technology
Evaluation (OTE) is looking for bright, energetic, and results-oriented
individuals to join our fast-paced organization. OTE is a team of
professionals who provide quality data analysis, survey design and
deployment, written products, and representation of the Commerce
Department, enabling Commerce and BIS to adhere to its core mission. OTE
specialties include customer service, industrial base surveys and

vacancies in Office of the Assistant Secretary for Export

within the various business units of BIS may consider and utilize the

within their business unit. The business units are Office of Strategic
Industries and Economic Security; Office of Exporter Services; Office of
National Security and Technical Transfer Controls; and Office of
Nonproliferation and Treaty Compliance . This Job Opportunity

(GS-1101-9/11, full performance level to GS-12) positions within BIS in
the same geographical location with the same qualifications and

Responsibilities The selected candidate will be responsible for duties
to include (but not limited to): All Grades: * Uses software programs to
collect and analyze data sets. * Participates as a member of study or
project teams analyzing private sector business/industry operations. *
Participates in group discussions and delivers presentations and
speeches. * Responds in writing to inquiries and offers additional
information to respondents. * Collaborates with multiple stakeholders
and relevant parties inside and outside the organization (program
offices, industry, project partners, contracting officers, senior
management, and internal agencies) to successfully bring about the
completion of projects * Communicates statistical analysis in oral and
written reports For GS-9: * Performs research and analysis of financial,
trade, and/or economic data and information on a specific topic or issue
within a larger project or assignment. For GS-11: * Support multiple,
concurrent projects requiring assembling and interpreting

appointment and must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security

an SF-312, Classified Non-disclosure Agreement. Qualifications GS-09-
Applicants must meet at least one year of specialized experience
equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal sector. Specialized
experience is defined as having experience synthesizing researched
information from a wide array of sources; assisting in preparing formal
presentations, documents, and/or written reports; contacting interagency
partners, industry, and/or other stakeholders orally and in writing to
obtain information. OR To qualify for the GS-09 Trade and Industry
Analyst based on education, you must possess: * A Master's or equivalent
graduate degree or * 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate
education leading to such a degree or * LL.B. or J.D., if related GS-11-
Applicants must meet at least one year of specialized experience
equivalent to the GS-09 level in the federal sector. Specialized
experience is defined as having experience providing written summaries
of research and analysis; successfully supporting multiple, concurrent
projects; and experience using software programs to compile and organize
data drawn from a variety of sources. OR To qualify for the GS-11 Trade
and Industry Analyst based on education, you must possess: * Ph.D. or
equivalent doctoral degree or * 3 full years of progressively higher
level graduate education leading to such a degree or * LL.M., if related

all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
