Duties Summary This is a Work at Home (WAH) position. The Duty Station will be the selectee's home address. Selected candidate(s) must reside in one of the following New York Counties: Richmond County (NY) New York County (NY) Kings County (NY) Bronx County (NY) Queens County (NY) This position is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the partnership agreements with federal, tribal, state, local government, and/or local businesses and community groups to develop specific strategies to eliminate enumeration barriers in specific regions in support of the Decennial Census. A trial period may be required. This is a time limited opportunity not-to-exceed (NTE) 2 years. This position may be extended or terminated earlier at management's discretion. This is a NON-BARGAINING unit position. Relocation is not authorized. Cultural Engagement and Experience Preferred, but Not Required to Receive Consideration: The ideal candidate sought for this position would have deep ties to and in-depth knowledge of the East or West African Community in the New York City area. Ideally they would be involved with community organizations in an effort to develop professional partnerships/connections with East or West African Community leaders, professionals and centers of influence. The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement. Responsibilities The individual selected for this position will: * Plan, develop, and coordinate the partnership agreements to ensure activities all levels are carried out, resolves problems encountered, and determines the need for renegotiation. * Address questions, concerns and issues related to current and potential partners and stakeholders. * Establish partnership agreements with federal, state local, and tribal governments, and/or local businesses and community groups to develop specific strategies to eliminate enumeration barriers in specific regions in support of the Decennial Census. * Develop presentations, give briefings, conduct meetings and promote partnerships with various governments, local businesses and community groups. GG-0301-11 EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 09 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is work experience applying analytical techniques and interpersonal relations in dealing effectively with targeted audience; and analyzing the views and opinions from organizations and developing recommendations for stimulating interest in activities.
