  • Responsibilities

    The Teleport Maintenance Coordinator supervises preventative and corrective maintenance on satellite communications and facility equipment at a DoD Satellite Communications Facility.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Utilize the U.S. Navy 3M program to assign and track all preventative maintenance
    • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance satellite communication systems
    • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facilities equipment
    • Conduct building maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs
    • Provide coordination and assistance for system installations
    • Coordinate with system vendors for depot level repairs and maintenance
    • Maintain accurate inventory of all facility locks and keys
    • Be available to provide assistance outside of normal working hours

    Required Skills

    • Valid Driver’s License with good driving history
    • Extensive knowledge of the U.S. Navy 3M program
    • Extensive knowledge of the U.S. Navy Tagout/Lockout program
    • Must be familiar with the U.S. Navy TMDE program
    • Must be familiar with NAVOSH and OSHA regulations
    • Working knowledge of generators and uninterruptable power systems
    • Working knowledge of HVAC, boilers, and cooling systems
    • Able to obtain certification to operate fork lifts and boom lifts
    • Able to stand and walk for extended periods
    • Able to climb and work at various heights on antenna structures
    • Able to work outdoors in inclement weather
    • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
    • Knowledge of U.S. Navy KMI system preferred

    Required Experience

    • Military satellite communications SHF or EHF maintenance course or equivalent accredited college/commercial education required
    • 5 years’ experience in satellite communications equipment operations and maintenance required
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Must have an active or in-scope DoD Secret clearance or higher
    • Must have CompTIA A+ or equivalently accepted certification
