The Teleport Maintenance Coordinator supervises preventative and corrective maintenance on satellite communications and facility equipment at a DoD Satellite Communications Facility.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Utilize the U.S. Navy 3M program to assign and track all preventative maintenance
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance satellite communication systems
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facilities equipment
- Conduct building maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs
- Provide coordination and assistance for system installations
- Coordinate with system vendors for depot level repairs and maintenance
- Maintain accurate inventory of all facility locks and keys
- Be available to provide assistance outside of normal working hours
Required Skills
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving history
- Extensive knowledge of the U.S. Navy 3M program
- Extensive knowledge of the U.S. Navy Tagout/Lockout program
- Must be familiar with the U.S. Navy TMDE program
- Must be familiar with NAVOSH and OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of generators and uninterruptable power systems
- Working knowledge of HVAC, boilers, and cooling systems
- Able to obtain certification to operate fork lifts and boom lifts
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Able to climb and work at various heights on antenna structures
- Able to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy KMI system preferred
Required Experience
- Military satellite communications SHF or EHF maintenance course or equivalent accredited college/commercial education required
- 5 years’ experience in satellite communications equipment operations and maintenance required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must have an active or in-scope DoD Secret clearance or higher
- Must have CompTIA A+ or equivalently accepted certification
