The Opportunity: Flexible On-Call Schedules. Apply Today! We are seeking high energy Social Service professionals willing to work in a part time/after-hours job. We are recruiting for all levels of Social Service Specialist positions. You will conduct intake and respond to calls in Port Angeles, Tumwater, Aberdeen, Centralia, Kelso and Vancouver. After-hours staff respond to and investigate reports of abuse and neglect in a timely and efficient manner during the times that the local DCYF offices are closed. Local offices are closed from 5pm to 8am each day, weekends, and all holidays, although the need to assist children still exists. The average number of hours per week varies depending on the number of days you can work and number of calls received. You are expected to be on-call if scheduled to work on the calendar that you help create along with the needs of After-Hours. There is a lot of flexibility in scheduling, some weekends are to be expected. An after-hours job is excellent for those professionals already employed in social services, but wish to supplement their income. This is also a great opportunity for those starting out in social work to gain experience in the field. Required Qualifications: Ability to make critical decisions, based on integration of information from multiple sources that may be discrepant, in high-stress situation. Ability to engage children and families under difficult circumstances, to gather information to make accurate and precise decisions. Proven ability to identify problems, develop and implement solutions. Ability to communicate information both orally and in writing so others will understand. Ability to remain calm when being confronted and to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to successfully manage competing priorities. Social Service Specialist 1 pay range 45 Master's or Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field. Social Service Specialist 2 pay range 53 Same education as SSS 1 and two (2) years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2 Social Service Specialist 3 pay range 55 Same education as SSS1 and SSS2 and three (3) years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2 Please attached your resume, cover letter and transcripts.
