ENGINEER 1 OPERATIONS Position Purpose --- | The Operations Engineer 1 (level 1) reports to Technical Leadership and provides manufacturing expertise to solve difficult problems and continuously improve our manufacturing organization and/or supply base. Supports production from a technical standpoint. Essential Functions | * Supports technical solutions * Recognizes problems that are beyond capabilities and is learning from the experts in the area * Supports new capital equipment purchases and implementation * Supports cell layouts and process improvement initiatives * General understanding of Six Sigma and lean tools to improve processes * General understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) concepts and supports new product introduction * Represents the company with our customers * Supports updates to management on operations status * Learns the steps involved to incorporate process improvements * Supports the manufacturing floor for any process related questions * Creates and maintains process documentation and updates work order documentation * Supports implementation of basic engineering changes * Adheres to applicable Quality System requirements * Supports Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control Plans * Learns from more senior Operations Engineers. May guide/direct Manufacturing Specialists.
