    Major Duties

    • Serves as a senior Business Systems Analyst in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) Wholesale Division (QSH), Medical Customer Operations Directorate, DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) Troop Support, Medical Directorate.
    • Performs functional studies, special projects and reviews of major systems developments/changes affecting DMLSS Wholesale Applications.
    • Resolves inconsistencies and problems as they relate to DMLSS-W applications DMLES Retail, Theatre Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS) and Enterprise Business System (EBS) interfaces.
    • Participates in task force and study groups assembled to review major systems or programs changes, determines the impact of implementing the changes and provides the needed guidance/training for operating personnel.
    • Serves as a consultant and technical expert on DMLSS-W software applications.
    • Conducts studies, analyzes findings and makes recommendations on substantive operating programs.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Business Systems Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Applying statistical decision theories and work processes/designs, including qualitative analytical techniques. Researching/analyzing various documents, papers and statistics, synthesizing complex data, developing positions/evaluating alternatives, and planning/adjusting critical steps throughout the various study phases. Identifying user and system requirements, managing those requirements and testing the product of those requirements. Analyzing and manipulating data using a Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support Wholesale (DMLSS-W) standard desktop and enterprise class database management software systems. Familiarity with customer organizations and systems utilized by the Military Services, the VA, and other federal healthcare agencies as well as knowledge of each service's unique logistical organization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
