    Major Duties

    • Designs and develops training developmental programs (e.g., entry and Mid-Level) to include program guides, mastery checklists, and progression criteria; and manages developmental programs.
    • Evaluates courses and training sources to ensure course content covers expected competencies and that delivery of training information is appropriate and effective.
    • Assesses program effectiveness and recommends curriculum, content, and course sequencing improvements.
    • Assesses Pacers’ performance and conduct, prepares counseling letters and participates in counseling sessions when Pacers performance or conduct is not acceptable.
    • Analyzes PaCE training requirements, schedules cost effective training, and monitors formal training, cross-training, rotational experience and on-the-job training.
    • Provides program guidance and direction to the Field Activity PaCE Centers and POCs, instructors, floor and functional supervisors, and developmental participants.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Career Program Administrator, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Managing and assessing training/developmental programs and recommending modifications to improve program effectiveness and efficiency. Developing procedures to monitor efficient and effective use of resources to improve career program development processes. Providing career guidance and advice or mentoring to lower graded personnel. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
