    Major Duties

    • Serves as Chief of Staff to the Director, DLA Information Operations.
    • Acts as a liaison between executives, leadership, and staff/employees.
    • Shares the responsibility for coordinating and integrating policies, guidelines, procedures, and activities to ensure effective, efficient, and economical IT planning, acquisition, and management in support of DLA missions and objectives
    • Serves as key advisor to the Director in the formulation of Agency-wide IT policy
    • Represents and makes commitments for the J6 Director at a variety of Inter-agency, Department of Defense level, DLA Headquarters, and other meetings
    • Continually advises the Director on strategies for problem solving and process improvements, as well as continuous improvement in program areas, responsiveness to customer needs, and improved effectiveness of the DLA IT program

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Chief of Staff, your resume and supporting documentation must include: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Advises the Director on developing long-term planning, forecasts, objectives, priorities, and operational use of the DLA Information Technology program and initiatives Oversees various aspects of managing the logistics of CIO/DCIOs daily work, including presentations, requests for information, taskings, interactions with colleagues, and scheduling, based on organizational needs and priorities Serves as principal project officer for a wide variety of special multi-discipline technical IT or concept development task groups or matrix teams established to accomplish specific program objectives in any IT functional specialty Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
