    Major Duties

    • Supports the creation and dissemination of all-source intelligence assessments pertaining to computer network operations.
    • Reviews, refines, plans, and produces cyber counterintelligence collection and analysis to detect, mitigate, or exploit Foreign Intelligence Entity (FIE) activity.
    • Monitors, assesses, and reports on foreign computer network operations capabilities, vulnerabilities, and personalities that could pose a threat to Department of War (DoW)/DLA computers, communications, and operations.
    • Determines vulnerabilities; selects critical nodes and prepares intelligence products supporting senior DLA decision makers in acquisition, operational and policymaking on computer network operations related subjects.
    • Prepares and provides briefings and assessments to DLA consumers, the Intelligence Community, DoW and other U.S. government officials as appropriate on computer network operations (CNO) issues.
    • Performs trend analysis of cyber threat actor activity using qualitative and quantitative techniques to identify relative trends and potential areas of concern enabling effective cyber security decisions.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Counterintelligence Cyber Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: In-depth knowledge of all-source intelligence research and analysis on foreign computer network operation processes and/or systems. Using cyber tools to identify anomalies in network performance, potential intrusion sets, and foreign intelligence entity cyber signatures. Managing and maintaining network defensive tools and responding to threats. Testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, reviewing, and administering security infrastructure hardware and software, and monitoring network(s) to remediate against unauthorized activities Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
