    Major Duties

    • Serves as senior advisor to the DLA Distribution Command Group on future planning, contingency and training plans.
    • Sets in motion the execution of programs and negotiates the scope and objectives of various projects within the directorate subject to general agency policies and DLA Distribution operating requirements.
    • Responsible for all aspects of the future planning management process, to include analyzing and shaping of the DLA Distribution Network and its ability to execute the mission.
    • Responsible for the structure of the Distribution network and the organizations within.
    • Enable performance of the Distribution mission through technology upgrades, coordination, development, and maintenance of logistical business.
    • Ensure that the missions and functions are carefully orchestrated and integrated throughout the supply chain

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Director of Plans, Training, and Modernization, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Making decisions on complex work problems presented by program managers and subordinate employees. Analyzing and modifying short- and long-range plans, programs, and objectives, recommending major changes to ensure the best possible level of support to the customer. Developing the proposals that support the Distribution customer base with improved logistics readiness and distribution support. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
