    Major Duties

    • Proactively monitors and enhances customer relationships by participating in customer outreach initiatives and planning engagements to assess customer tactical and operational needs, satisfaction and inform customers of new DLA capabilities.
    • Participates in Demand Collaboration and Demand Consensus meetings, reviewing, and validating reports, assisting with issue resolution, reviewing performance, and identifying product and customer demand influences.
    • Responsible for thorough understanding of Government and commercial approaches to all disciplines involved in program support, including supply, transportation, customs, automation, storage, and inspection, contracting, finance, and other.
    • Monitors the servicing and contract's compliance with all contract terms, which include Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard ordering and receipt, storage, and distribution of all four commodities.
    • Resolves open issues, documents areas of disagreement, coordinates all actions resulting in the creation of new Customer Master Records or the updating of key data elements with the Process Management, Planning, and Finance organization.
    • Ensures forecasts or demand plans developed are provided to the appropriate collaborative partners.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Forward Logistics Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Applies and adapts analytical and evaluative methods in performing customer support studies. Processes assigned workflow items, investigates, and resolves applicable transaction failures, and generates and reviews applicable reports and metrics. Keeps abreast and engages customers of current and imminent armed services peace and wartime programs and demand for assigned items and programs as related to vendor inventory and execution ability for Customer Direct (CD) and prime vendor programs. Coordinates with a variety of Government and non-Government organizations and agencies on matters of Government-supplied transportation, Government-furnished material, customs and customer support. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
