    Major Duties

    • Serves as Staffing Trainer with responsibility for developing and conducting staffing training for the DLA Human Resources Services, DoD Customers.
    • Applies a high degree of skill and a broad range of staffing expertise in providing technical advice in the administration of the full range of staffing actions.
    • Provides initial and refresher training for new and/or newly appointed employees and works closely with them to review their work.
    • Monitors the trainee's progression and the completion of the required Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
    • As the trainee develops competence, closely reviews completed work and provides feedback. Continues review until all certification requirements are met.
    • Provides standard and sound guidance to ensure consistency with regulations, guides, SOPs and office practices.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Providing technical advice to hiring managers, applicants, and peers regarding Federal civilian Merit Promotion and non-competitive staffing actions. Utilizing knowledge of operational Federal Human Resources functions in staffing and recruitment to make recommendations to improve daily processes. Processing a wide range of civilian personnel actions. Providing training to managers, agency employees and Human Resources staff on various merit promotion and non-competitive Federal civilian recruitment operations. Lead individual and group learning experiences for classroom, virtual, and distance learning. Research, identify and implement training process improvements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
