    Major Duties

    • Leads the configuration, implementation, and continuous improvement of cloud-native and third-party security tools to protect DLA’s multi-cloud environments.
    • Provides Tier 3 support for cloud security operations, ensuring secure configurations, compliance with DLA cybersecurity policies, and alignment with DoD cloud security requirements.
    • Designs and enforces security controls including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, logging, network segmentation, and workload protection across all supported cloud platforms.
    • Monitors and maintains cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools, cloud workload protection platforms (CWPP), and other cloud-native security services.
    • Delivers technical briefings and status reports on cloud security posture, incident trends, and compliance metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
    • Provides expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for cloud security issues, including misconfigurations, access violations, and integration challenges.
    • Collaborates with cloud architects, application teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure secure design and deployment of cloud-based services.
    • Supports acquisition planning and execution for cloud security tools and services, including licensing, capability expansion, and lifecycle management.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) your qualifications must include: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Participates in the planning and scheduling installation of new or modified hardware, Operating System (OS), and Application software as it relates to Cybersecurity Technology. - Manages accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment for Cybersecurity Technology on the Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and where applicable on the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET). - Participates in planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating the results of feasibility, hardwaresoftware performance studies, and environmental tests of next generation of assigned products for Enterprise implementation. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
