    Major Duties

    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, procedures, and standards that align with federal regulations
    • Facilitate collaboration, coordination, and information sharing among stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective implementation of DLP policies and procedures
    • Research emerging threats, technologies and trends in DLP to apply this knowledge to continuously improve agency DLP policies, procedures, and technical solutions
    • Represent the agency in external forums, conferences, and working groups to share best practices, stay informed about the industry developments, and contribute to the development of national DLP policies and standards
    • Design and implement data loss prevention strategies to secure J6 and DLA organization critical information maintaining DLP systems to ensure optimal performance and security

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Conducts risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify potential data loss risks and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies to address them Develop and maintain metrics and reporting to measure the effectiveness of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, procedures, and technical solutions, and provide regular reports to leadership Develops and manages budget for DLP related projects and initiatives and allocates resources to achieve program goals and objectives Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
