    Major Duties

    • Provides planning and coordinating for the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
    • Addresses the effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, and resource requirements for various ICAM systems including toolsets and processes supporting Identity Management, Single Sign-On, Privilege Management and Segregation of Duties.
    • Creates, and debugs scripts and programs which conform to Agency standard systems requirements for Application Program Interfaces (API), mid-tier, and web enabled interfaces.
    • Supports applications or system design, development, implementation, and maintenance through effective use of state-of-the-art software and hardware.
    • Offers systematic analytical approaches to problem solving and provides computer systems analysis, computer programming, system administration, and maintenance in support of applications prototyping, integration, modification, and implementation.
    • Performs work that involves creating/reviewing Segregation of Duties rule sets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, auditability and availability of systems and applications, and control of excessive authorization across all account types.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Defines or gathers technical requirements and participates in the development of new and enhanced processes, systems or applications. Analyzes computer systems, computer programming, system administration, and maintenance in support of applications prototyping, integration, modification, and implementation. Develops and documents system administration standard operating procedures. Enhances the automation effort by recommending and devising solutions to problems, which are expected to require a high level of competence in visualizing the application to "real world" operations sufficient to meet goals and objectives. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
