    Major Duties

    • The authoritative representative for DLA on DOD and DLA WC filtering oversight and administration, DLA VDP Tasking communications and reporting for the DLA Web Scanning Program.
    • The authoritative representative for PPSM implementation on the use of Internet protocols, application and data services that traverse DOD networks connected to the Global Information Grid (GIG).
    • Aids in Enterprise security declaration, readiness, and sustainment services for Information Technology (IT)technical vulnerabilities in support of continuous monitoring for the DLA Approving Official (AO).
    • Aids in security for DLA Approving Official (AO) and their oversight on DLA's operational IT environment, while working for DLA Information Operations, Cybersecurity.
    • Provides expertise to ensure prioritization of emerging and existing technical vulnerabilities, and ensures PPSM security instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures are prepared, maintained, and implemented for the Enterprise.
    • Responsible for the oversight of PPSM and IAVM program management of Enterprise IT Infrastructure Provides project management support to the Cybersecurity service area.
    • Represents the Branch Chief during audits and inspections of PPSM and IAVM programs. Performs automated vulnerability scanning and analyzes reports for compliance.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Supports technical IT subject matter experts, Information System Security Managers, Information System Security Officers, and enterprise/operations applications. Defines, coordinates, and documents IA procedures and practices for the Enterprise. Conducts risk assessments and advises the stakeholders on the impact of threats and vulnerabilities to the system and provide input to analyses of alternatives and mitigations to achieve an effective security solution that enables the mission/business function. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
