Qualification Summary
To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Serving as a subject matter expert on all aspects of PP&E management, to include the interpretation and implementation of technical PP&E policy directives. Providing guidance in coordination, development and implementation of activity policy directives concerning Plant, Property & Equipment (PP&E) programs. Providing technical advice, and assistance to management and staff regarding the PP&E program and operations, policy and procedures, as well as accountability of personal property. Overseeing, updating, and maintaining accountable property (AP) accounts. Responsible for accountable property management operations to include property accountability, inventory management, and property utilization. Knowledge of Audit Readiness & Remediation activities and requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: Assignment regularly requires lengthy periods of standing, bending, and stooping in both office and industrial environments, such as the storage or dock areas, to observe or study work operations. The work often involves temporary duty (TDY) travel to CONUS sites and foreign countries to perform required functions. Work Environment: Assignments regularly require working in a warehouse area with moderate risk of discomfort. Protective clothing and gear maybe required.
