    Major Duties

    • Serves as Senior/Lead Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) with responsibility to provide quality assurance (QA) advice and coordination within assigned Engineering Technical Management (ETM) Team.
    • Serves as senior liaison between DLA Aviation, Industrial Site DLA Commanders, and the Military Engineering Support Activity(s) for assigned site(s).
    • Responsible for resolving conflicts and disagreements between DLA and the Military Engineering Support Activity (ESAs).
    • Responsible for coordination and liaison with the DoD Services on assigned programs, policies, and systems related to assigned Service customer sites.
    • Initiates and monitors ESAs DD-Form 339 funding support ($MM) through Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs).
    • Performs a variety of advisory, coordination, and liaison functions at assigned AOR with a focus on focal point, sourcing, and Captains of Industry (COI).
    • Serves as Engineering Technical Manager/team leader/Senior QAS (Aircraft) and is responsible to the supervisor for assuring that the work of the team is carried.
    • Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines for completion.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Lead Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) your resume and supporting documentation must support:A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performing Quality/Technical oversight of materials provided to the customer site. Providing pre- and post-award Quality Assurance support to Acquisition Specialists. Conducting extensive Market Research to identify commercial or government material sources to satisfy customer requirements. Studying and continually improving technical and/or quality related logistics solutions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
