    Major Duties

    • Oversee DLA fuel stocks at various US bases to provide reasonable assurance that obligations and costs are following applicable laws and are safeguarded against waste, loss, and misappropriation.
    • Regularly provide updates to the J4 Commander and staff on DLA Energy Support to the USSTRATCOM Service Components.
    • Advise USSTRATCOM on procurement, storage, and deployment of DLA Energy's entire array of energy resources.
    • Evaluates operations plans and assesses DLA Energy supporting tasks and missions.
    • Serve as the DLA Energy Liaison Planning Advisor, and Consultant to USSTRATCOM, as the focal point for disseminating, coordinating, and tracking CCMD issues and concerns.
    • Collect and evaluate exercise and/or contingency operations to utilize as a basis for improving and revising DLA Energy doctrine, directives, instructions or Support Plans.
    • Resolve shortfalls, limitations, and other conditions that impact DLA Energy's ability to perform its wartime and emergency response fuel logistics support mission.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Organization, leadership, direction, and coordination of quantitative and qualitative studies and analysis. Advising higher leadership of concerns, solutions, and revisions made in regard to logistics and program performance. Evaluation of operations plans to determine areas of improvement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
