    Major Duties

    • As a Management and Program Assistant you will be responsible for the following duties:
    • Perform a wide variety of information/records management and automation support functions.
    • Receive telephone calls, greet visitors and identify the nature of the calls or visits.
    • Prepare recurring reports by compiling and consolidating information and properly formatting draft and final documents.
    • Prepare letters, memorandums, notes, briefing slides and other office documentation and presentations.
    • Utilize various office automation software packages including word processing, briefing charts, spreadsheets and databases, e.g. MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Compile statistical data, verifies computations, arranges data in proper format and prepares descriptive reports.
    • Monitor office supply stock levels to prevent items from becoming out-of-stock and notify supervisors when inventories require replenishment.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Management and Program Assistant your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Collect data and conduct research in support of studies and/or projects with the focus of program effectiveness and improvement. Receive, file, and maintain correspondence and publications, such as operating instructions, bulletins and notices. Prepare correspondence, information papers, reports, memoranda, and other documents ensuring proper grammar, format and attachments. Prepare reports by compiling and consolidating information, and properly formatting draft and final documents. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
