Major Duties

• Manages the activities of various officers performing the Field Training Officer (FTO) functions in DLA Installation Management.
• Maintains FTO training records reflecting training accomplished and required by individual FTOs.
• Assess training needs for FTOs and develops in-house training programs to augment formal training received.
• Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
• Patrols DLA installation and property to prevent crime, protect life and property, and enforce local regulations and laws.
• Orders, issues, and maintains accountability of police equipment to assigned personnel.

Qualification Summary

To qualify for a Policer Officer (Instructor), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations,practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Practical knowledge of instructional techniques, principles and concepts to make classroom presentation,following established course materials for subjects or to review comments or surveys to recommend changes in curricula/various aspects of the assigned training programs. Ability to develop training classes and maintain training records using a variety of computer programs (i.e. Word,PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
