    Major Duties

    • Serves as a Property Disposal Specialist performing duties in the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) portion of the Reutilization Program as it pertains to the command.
    • Adheres to the governing regulations as promulgated by the Secretary of Defense and monitored under the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
    • Develops responses to inquiries received regarding DLA Disposition Services FMS procedures, eligibility and property availability following the guidelines provided in DSCA 5104.38M, Security Assistance Management Manual.
    • Knowledge of Property Disposal Processes; has a solid understanding of property reutilization and disposal processes, especially within the context of Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
    • This position may receive, validate and input customer orders/change requests, monitor customer orders after they have been created, and process order cancellations.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Property Disposal Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to the position. To qualify at the GS- 12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time- in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performing property disposal management, control and advisory activities. Performing reutilization, transfer, donation and sales of products to foreign customers. Organizing cases, performing order processing, and assuring property is accurately accounted for. Communicating with foreign customers and providing responses based on policy Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
