    Major Duties

    • Advises J1 Senior Leadership on long-term planning, forecasting, and setting objectives and priorities for the DLA Human Resources program.
    • Evaluates proposed staff actions and business practices, offering recommendations to support executive decision-making and management plans.
    • Represents J1 Senior Leadership in inter-agency and Department of Defense-level meetings, making commitments and advising on strategic improvements.
    • Conducts studies and reviews of J1 administrative programs, formulates new or revised policy directives, and ensures continuity and timeliness of staff outputs.
    • Creates and reviews a wide range of written materials including white papers, presentations, and memorandums.
    • Supports the maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for J1 administration and serves as the Records Management Point of Contact.

    Qualification Summary

    Qualifications: To qualify for a Staff Support Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Advising senior leadership on strategic human capital initiatives through data analysis, forecasting, and organizational planning. - Coordinating interagency and Department of Defense-level meetings to represent leadership interests and communicate HR priorities. - Preparing executive-level correspondence, white papers, and to support HR program goals and initiatives. - Evaluating administrative programs and recommending policy changes to improve operational efficiency and staff performance. - Leading cross-functional studies to identify challenges in HR operations and implement solutions aligned with agency objectives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
