    Major Duties

    • Reports to the J6T deputy director and as senior specialist and subject matter expert leads J6 program and projects advising and consulting on all aspects of process improvement.
    • Leads and facilitates projects and events, works with J6 Enterprise Service Areas (ESA) to understand policies and processes, and acts as a senior lead to the J6 Citizen Development process improvement and automation program.
    • Develops robotic process automation (RPA) and/or ServiceNow (Snow) workflow automation to reduce manual work and eliminate process inefficiencies to streamline repetitive and transactional processes.
    • Leads programs and projects to enhance the processes throughout J6 to include Process Analysis and Documentation, Process Improvement, Business Process Reengineering, Process Automation, etc.
    • Serves as Strategic IT Business Operations (J6T) senior process automation expert advising and consulting on all aspects of process improvement methodologies.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Strategic Process Automation Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must include: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Provides technical direction on initiative/project methodology selection, initiative/project management, team building, facilitation, process analysis, and business case development. - As a change agent advises staff on maximizing data-driven decision making and developing a portfolio of high-impact, strategically important initiatives/projects to optimize limited resources, meet critical customer requirements, reduce rework and variation by standardizing processes and services to improve health and readiness outcomes. - Proactively develops strategies and plans to validate and replicate leading practices. - Assists and/or acts as the lead facilitator in the execution of continuous process improvement (CPI) projects or events. - Reviews project completion elements (policies, processes and procedures, controls, tools, and human capital) necessary to ensure the end-to-end IT business processes are standardized, repeatable, and in compliance with all applicable laws. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
