    Major Duties

    • Serve as Chief, DLA Training Operations Support Office, responsible for the direction and oversight of business operations, administrative support services and workforce development policy and program support activities.
    • Provide management advisory and technical expertise regarding the effective interpretation, implementation, and evaluation of DLA training and workforce development policies.
    • Develop and implement workforce development policies for the Agency.
    • Provide oversight of management and program analysis work that is conducted to support the Agency mission, improve cost effectiveness, ensure financial solvency and program success, responsiveness and growth.
    • Monitor office budget execution to ensure obligations are consistent with budget authority and constraints.
    • Oversee the organization and management of procurement and contract administration for the acquisition of knowledge-based, supplies, facility related and cultural support services.
    • Utilizes a thorough knowledge of program management and professional knowledge of education/training management in directing the operations of a division.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Administrative Support Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Providing guidance and interpretation of existing workforce development policies/procedures. Facilitates advisory services regarding workforce development policy, budgetary, and business issues. Leading or guiding subordinates to ensure the efficient/effective accomplishment of an office budget, and procurement/contract administration of supplies, facilities, or services. Performing technical and administrative human resource management functions that involve program assessment and interpretation. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
