    Major Duties

    • Serve as production division chief and first line supervisor within the DLA Contract Services Office.
    • Provide input and feedback for the work of teams which impact the DLA-services relationships, including the Program Management Teams and Integrated Services Teams (ISTs).
    • Manage partnerships with key service providers and service provider stakeholders to establish a uniform business approach.
    • Work with service providers to maintain adequate readiness capacities, monitoring surge and sustainment requirements.
    • Work with Project Managers and Program Management Offices representing DLA customers, to achieve customer expectations and ensure communication with ISTs to obtain key services.
    • Lead project teams of various Agency functional and technical experts, applying knowledge of DLA acquisition, material management, technical, quality, and financial management functions.
    • Prepare and present briefings to mid-level and senior Agency/Military Service management officials, up to and including Flag Officers and Senior Executive Services (SES) officials.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Contract Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. CAP Requirement: Applicant must meet each of the following items: Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees Have completed all mandatory training requirements for Level II or Level III Contract/Foundational certification. Possess four years of acquisition experience. B. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. In addition to meeting the CAP Requirements above, to qualify for the GS-14 grade level, specialized experience must be at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Managing partnerships with key service providers and service provider stakeholders to establish a uniform business approach. Knowledge in logistics and contracting guidance and regulations which apply to the conduct of diverse logistics program operations. Resolving complex issues identified through the vendor evaluation process. Extensive knowledge in the execution of the Acquisition Strategy through solicitation, evluationa, award, and post-award administration. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
